Aluminium arsenide

Aluminium arsenide (also aluminum arsenide), AlAs, is a semiconductor material with almost the same lattice constant as GaAs and AlGaAs and wider band gap than GaAs.

It has the appearance of orange cubic crystals, with melting point of 1740 °C and density of 3.76 g/cm³. It is hygroscopic.

Its CAS number is [22831-42-1].

It can be used to form quantum well structures with GaAs.
