Rhodia Organics announces plans to discontinue the paracetamol activity on its Roussillon site

30 Oct 2007 - At a meeting of the Roussillon facility's work's council, Rhodia presented plans to discontinue the site's current paracetamol activities. The ending of these production activities, which should be effective by the end of 2008, forms part of the strategy to refocus Rhodia Organics' business portfolio.

The economic analysis of this market revealed a difficult competitive situation. The considerable efforts made to cut costs have failed to prevent a decline in this business activity and to restore its competitiveness.

Plans to discontinue the paracetamol activity on the Roussillon site will have a direct impact on 43 jobs. Rhodia will do its utmost to facilitate the redeployment of its employees.
