Corrosion-resistant structural materials for modernization and development of new equipment in the petrochemicals industry. Part 1

Results of corrosion tests of structural materials are considered under conditions of ethyl benzene and styrene synthesis, which allowed developing and implementing high-performance home equipment. Causes are studied for enhanced wear of pipes in thermal cracking furnaces, and corresponding recommendations are issued. It is reported that hydrotreating of a K-2 column subjected to corrosion cracking can prolong its operational life by 7 years after 38 years of operation.
