12.11.2002

Schümann Sasol GmbH and Dynea Moers GmbH, a subsidiary of Dynea Oy, have today, November 8, 2002, signed a contract on the sale of Dynea Moers’ paraffin emulsion business to Schümann Sasol. Dynea Moers GmbH is located in Meerbeck, Germany, and continues to produce polymer dispersions. The completion of the sale is subject to the approval of competition authorities.

The paraffin emulsion business consists of approximately 3 MEUR sales. Paraffin emulsions are employed in the production of chipboards and fibreboards (medium density fibreboards). They improve the water resistance properties of the finished board and act as lubricants.

“The focal point of our activities lie in the production of aqueous polymer dispersion systems, used as a bonding agent for building trade, plastering and wall paints. We are committed to be experts in this area with increasing demand in the future”, says Harald Matthäus, Managing Director, Dynea Moers GmbH. “We have been co-operating with Sasol for many years and are happy to sell a part of our production to such a reliable owner.”
