PHAGE GENOMICS INC.
HENDERSON, NV, Feb. 11 /CNW/ - The company announced today that it is in the process of reorganization and it is changing its focus from Biotech to becoming a mineral exploration company, dedicated to the discovery and exploitation of gold and other precious metal deposits. The company has negotiated an option on 3200 acres of placer mining claims just south of Searchlight Nevada.
SUMMARY-SEARCHLIGHT PROJECT
Location: Southern Nevada, USA (50 miles south of Las Vegas) Project Size: 3,200 acres History: In established gold camp (250,000 oz produced 1900-1950)
WORK COMPLETED TO DATE
Exploration work by the claim owners on the Searchlight project, during the period 1989-2004, has indicated that gold mineralization could potentially occur over large areas in the central part of the claim block. Electron microscope work has shown that the gold is extremely fine (less than 0.1-20 microns) and geological data indicates it is associated with a hydrothermal suite of minerals.
A claim owner has filed a plan of Operations with the BLM for drilling 22 test holes (100ft) throughout the claim block and for mining a 40-acre pit on the claims. Approval is expected before mid 2005. Surface sampling can continue in advance of receiving the drilling and mining permits.
FUTURE PLANNED WORK & USE OF PROCEEDS
The intent of the 2005 exploration work program is to identify the grade, tonnage and leachability of the gold zones within the Searchlight project area. Independent geologists and engineers will be engaged to certify the work. Budget for this work (phase 1) is projected at $500,000. Should this work prove successful, then bulk leach tests and additional drilling will be conducted to determine the feasibility of mining this deposit.
