Great Lakes Names Sr VP, Global Supply Chain

Great Lakes Chemical Corporation (NYSE:GLK) today announced that Bruce G. Davis has been named Senior Vice President, Global Supply Chain, effective April 18, 2001. Mr. Davis will report to Mark Bulriss, Chairman, President and CEO, and will be responsible for strengthening further the company's supply chain and leading the implementation of Sales, Operations and Inventory Planning (SOIP) disciplines.

Mr. Bulriss commented, "Throughout his career, Bruce Davis has created, implemented and led numerous supply chain and distribution initiatives. He brings a proven leadership style and a track record for aligning focused initiatives with business results. I'm confident that Bruce and Great Lakes' global supply chain team will continue making an outstanding contribution to the company's growth and productivity objectives."

Mr. Davis comes to Great Lakes from IMC Global, Inc., where as Vice President, Materials, he was the senior executive responsible for supply chain strategy and execution with this $2.4 billion mining and chemical company. Prior to joining IMC, Davis held the top supply chain management roles with Witco Corporation, a $2.2 billion specialty chemical company, and Standard Products Company, a $1 billion automotive component supplier. He spent a significant portion of his career at GE, serving in positions of increasing responsibility and culminating in his being named to lead the Materials, Sourcing and Support Operations for GE Transportation Systems, a $2.5B business unit within GE.

A 1974 summa cum laude graduate of Old Dominion University, Mr. Davis holds a BS in Operations Research, Quantitative Methods and Statistics. He succeeds Angelo Brisimitzakis who recently was named Vice President and General Manager of Great Lakes' Flame Retardant business.
